"...Many years ago when the better half was suffering post natal depression every Dr and psychologist wanted to put her on anti-depressants yet they couldn't answer one simple question that I kept asking all of them every time it was bought up:

How do you know when she doesn't need them anymore?

Their inability to answer this simple question meant that in consultation with my wife that we didn't go down this course of treatment. If the medical profession is going to prescribe drugs to help fix something they should know when the treatment has worked otherwise it's just a masking agent and doesn't address the problem."

That is sheer brilliance. . . Well Done ! (wish I'd thought of that. )

What you alluded to is... by taking Control and responsibility of YOUR health, you laid the foundations for ultimate success, and that has I'll bet, become your standard practice...
The 'Allopathic' medical tribe is only now (grudgingly) 'officially', accepting the notion that maybe-perhaps they haven't appreciated how important...is the mind-body connection.
For 'mind', you can substitute 'heart/Emotions'

Good case to illustrate this is the surprising results from a trial on knee surgery. Google this " placebo arthroscopy " and read yourself rich...

Check this one, especially as it comes from a part of Europe where the Almighty Medical Dollar is not worshipped with as much fervour as it is in the,,, Home of the Dollar.
    :- MMS: Error

    - Being somewhat biased... I'd add a sub-text to their title. "Witchcraft in Modern Medicine is Alive and Well." - Change 'Protocols' to 'Incantations & Dances' and you'll see what I mean .

Bottom line, - as it relates to this, is;- The manner and motivation with which the patient is treated by the Doctors/Rehab/Insurance Co.. will have a significant - if not defining - impact on their return to health.

The surgery, medication, physiotherapy etc are then put back into their rightful roles as 'tools' and not ends in themselves. - Despite what the Pharmaceutical (Marketing) Companies are desperate for you to endor$e.

Finding a 'Physician(s)' to consult with - as opposed to money-motivated-medical sociopaths ... is the first and most difficult step.

Or just chatting with others in the same boat. Sharing here with the Group, - and individuals - has been (for me) . . . Priceless.

Behaviour like this by insurance companies makes it harder for people to cope.

... Your restraint is admirable, after watching that the other night.... Best if I don't let it all out. . .

But an edited version would 'suggest' these insurance companies are (deliberately? ) taking this bullying stance..and knowing that most of the problem$ will eventually take themselves away, - both meanings - ...$o they won't have to honour their obligation$.

I don't think this is restricted to insurance companies. I have heard rumours of the Department of Veteran Affairs employing similar tactics. My dealings have certainly shown me that they are either completely incompetent or they are the masters of delaying every part of the process. (Losing paperwork etc.)

    Funny you should say that...

Even though not needing support from that department, I've heard similar rumours... many moons ago when I was working at the largest morning newspaper in West Oz... from journalists AND the odd colleague who used to be 'travellers without visas' while employed by the Australian Government...

    - A bit of discrimination here, as those who 'visited' Axis, Japanese, and the Korean territories are more compassionately viewed than Vietnam,,, - "tourists".

It all come$ down to Money.

Betcha Mal, Tony, Julia and Kev (or even Paul & Johnny) don't have many hassles with their Medicare, Private Health Funds or Pensions...

. . . Come to think of it, the electricity utility, Synergy, somehow managed to....'misplace' my application for solar PV installation.
    - Back when we had a 40c per Unit rebate from the WA State gov. PLUS the 7cents from Synergy - and it had become obvious that lots and lotsa folk were taking up the offer... (later dropped to 20 cents, now nothing.)
You can guess why...when some Dr surgeries had 90% of roof covered in panels, as well as some city councils. One school I know of, has around 400 of them.

Seems to be a common business & gov't tactic.

Tomorrow I start the push-up challenge. You get nominated and then everyday for 22 days you have to video yourself doing your push-ups and post online and nominate someone else.

Day 01 of the ‪#‎22pushupschallenge‬ On average 22 US veterans commit suicide EVERY DAY!!! I will be conducting 22 push-ups (or something strange 22 times) for 22 days to help raise awareness for things such as PTSD, anxiety and depression that drive veterans to commit suicide to support our US brothers in arms and this is also a rising problem here in Australia. Let's get it out there guys.
    Today I nominate ........
    The rules are simple:
*Once you are nominated your 22 days starts the following day.
*Everyday you record yourself doing 22 push-ups even if you have to drop to your knees to get 22
*Every day you must nominate a different person.
Let's reach as many people as possible.
These brave men and women put their lives on the line to protect our freedoms only to get back and feel lost.
    ‪#‎22pushupchallenge‬ ‪#‎22pushupsfor22kill‬ ‪#‎veteransuicideawareness‬ #22 ‪#‎veteranmentalhealth‬ ‪#‎someoneholdmybeer‬

This is an example. Every day there is a different post. many of you may of seen it. I get on face book these days and all my mates are doing push-ups.

If you get on Facebook and wonder why any vets you might know are doing push ups check out this website
    https://www.22kill.com

Everyone wants to get the word out there. One veteran suicide from PTSD is one too many. Any suicide is one too many.

    ITS NOT A JOKING MATTER

Its something that no one needs in their life. This year I was involved in to relatives that tried, one I smashed the garage door in to save him and another close a relo in Tassie both with in two weeks. Belive me it leaves a very sour tast in your mouth and plays hell with your mind
