    Just a side thought..


    why not just leave the shaft as up and down and then custom form some tube coils around the shaft fitting the shaft with some rare earth magnets making a linear dynamo? a bridge rectifier per coil so it outputs on both up and down strokes, wire them in parallel and feed them into say a 30a solar regulator.....

    The only downside to using the dynamo that I can think of would be regulating the voltage but that should be sortable with a good solar regulator

    with the windmill making electricity we could use that to power some fans and point them at the windmill

    Yup, this is it..we're going to make our millions!! I've given the dogs and cars away, and will be putting the windmill up this afternoon.. Which fans are best? Kmart or Woolies!??

    Dont over capitalise, just get 12v car fans from the wreckers or the cheap desk fans from the salvos.

    Of course if the neighbours are going to complain about the noise you could try those dyson blade free jobbies for the second round once the first installs have paid for themselves.
