All the northern beaches will fire at different times. Often when its gnarly and rough is when the salmon in particular will run.
Now that the nets have been parked in the Cairns region ([ame]https://publications.qld.gov.au/dataset/6853945c-c72c-4b04-9fce-e29db1d283ab/resource/30037a4f-2226-446a-8fd5-8aaad2d69b39/download/netfreefishingzonetrinitybay.pdf[/ame])
I have heard great reports of salmon (blues and threadies) making a comeback.
Back in the day I have personally seen a thready which just fit diagonally across a pro-netters ute ice bin (1.3m square bin = 1.7m-1.8m thready)
Now the netters have gone big girls like that are a stronger possibility than ever before - Id be targeting the corners of the beaches in a gutter against the rocky corners with big baits like butterflied whole whiting or bully mullet.
