22.5 cents for me but most of Vic will be hit with a 12 to 15% increase in the new year. Still be a lot cheaper than over there. Was chatting to a Canadian the other day and they’re all complaining about the price rises over there that’s seen power hit 12 cents over there.
Whilst over visiting Pete in Thailand he got his power bill... 3 months.... $30 AUD....
We get totally screwed over here on Essential services...
Ain’t privatisation Grand! Look how much it’s saved us!
Oh and our price rise in the new year is directly related to Hazelwood closing down - it was producing power for less than .06 cents KWh and profitable whenever it closed.
Not saying closing it wasn’t a good thing by the way, just noting it. We do need to move away from coal and we’ll have to pay for that in the short term, but the long term without buying fossil fuel is a good thing.
At current prices probably will make more money than the gold mine did[biggrin]

Probably!
Now if they build 10 of them they’ll almost make up for losing Hazelwood from the grid.
Staggers me that this thread keeps bobbing up. Haven't you all worked out that one ideology can never defeat another, equal and opposite ideology? Move the damn thread to CA. Then go for your lives.
