    DISCIPLINE THESE DAYS

Everywhere in Australia crime and violence is on the rise, a lot of the younger generation dont show any respect for the parents, school teachers, police or property of others etc . and every one is asking why ????.
My theory is because snacking is no longer allowed by law, If the older generation about my age (70) think back to before the law against snacking was brought in and teachers were allowed to enforce discipline inc the cane. We did not have anywhere near the problem that we have today. I would like to hear others thoughts on this matter but I am aware that there is a difference between snacking a child and flogging it to within an inch of its life.

Actually, overall it is is reducing just the reporting is increasing giving the appearance it is on the rise. Some sectors may have had an increase but overall is reducing.

I been in bush a few days and out of phone range so haven't been keeping up on things but I had a sausage roll at Gascoyne Junction this morning. I saw others snacking as well. Nobody seemed to perturbed about the new law.

Once upon a time newspapers didn't report much petty crime because they wanted Australia to look good. Nowadays they report nearly every crime with added outrage to make Australia look bad. I suspect that the crime rate per head of population hasn't changed much, only the population has doubled in our life times.

We all need something to fear...if there is no punishment, there is no fear...human nature...no fear = do as you will.

    Hodgo i agree 100%.

Some of the things i see and hear in supermarkets and shopping centres are enough to make your hair curl.

Just today i saw a screaming brat start kicking his dad in the shins and having a meltdown all because he was told to hold his hand to cross the road..

We will continue to see these displays until it becomes legal for parents to own Tazers.
