short memories guys....

many , many of our champion tennis players both male and female had pressure induced tantrums , yelling at match referees , verbally abusing linsemen and ball boys etc.

Kyrgios , as stated by many other senior players , is the most exciting player to come into world tennis for decades.

So, he has had a couple of pressure induced brain farts......haven't you all yelled , smashed or thrown something etc after you couldn't fit something in your Land Rover?

Quick to judge , slow to praise.

Do it simple, and apply the same rules over ALL sports..

1st warning
2nd warning + fine
3rd warning - forfeit of match/game and huge fine
Any mouthing off after that - ban for season and exponentially large fine.

An athlete is doing a job - like a fireman or a shop worker.. their job in this case is to entertain people by being the pinnacle of their sporting endeavour.

People need to stop idolising sportspersons or actors etc - they aren't above the laws, or worthy of ANY MORE respect or treatment than ANY other honest individual..

Let's face it - a certain tennis Player years ago hooning a BMW was certainly given privilege that would not be afforded to joe public..

A small fit in a private shed is very different to say standing at the doors to the local dealer whilst the tech working on your vehicle has a tantrum, does a half arsed job and disrespects you the client with verbal abuse - You'd be calling for blood..

I don't give a **** who they think they are - professionals In ANY field aren't entitled to behave like that..

And... who cares how exciting he is for the world of Tennis - it's an entertainment sport - it contributes NOTHING to global goodness, mankind etc... its Entertainment and nothing more...

If the requirement to keep a sport alive is to have ****wits running roughshod over it then it is time to wind up the sport...

Well said Tombie. If I carried on like that in my job or other roles I have in society, I'd be removed from my job/position and shown the door. Rightly so.

I don't want my boys growing up thinking this is acceptable. It's not the notion of sportsmanship, where if things don't go your way you get to scream and carry on. The guy is a complete ******.

he has been given a reprieve , Andy Murray is helping him , I agree next time bring out the axe.

I'm not defending his obnoxious behaviour, but it was intersting that Wally Masur said Kyrious should have taken a break after playing so well to win the Japan Open the previous week. Tennis players are forced by the system to play almost every week if they want to climb the rankings and only the top players get enough points from finishing in the top four to be able to escape the grind and skip tournaments and get more rest. No excuse I know, but interesting.

Everyone else on the Profesional tour manages fine, or drops out and finds a new career.

Simple options really,

If I had a brain fart like that at work because I was 'too stressed out' from working too hard I'd get the sack instantly. No difference here IMO.
