    Help please with towbar/trailer fix

I'm stuck and don't know where I can go to get unstuck...

I have a thread in Freelander 2 section about my towbar journey.... basically it's too low. http://www.aulro.com/afvb/freelander...ml#post2597729

Can anyone suggest where in Brisbane I can get a trailer hitch modded to make the trailer ride higher on a low ball, or a 40mm LR compatible tongue that will rise and move out but can manage 2000kgs and 200 down weight?

You only really need to read the last few posts and maybe look at the piccies to see the full picture. Sorry for two threads but I thought it might be only seen by a small group in the FL section..

I'd be going with the taller ball that LandyAndy suggested, along with the bumper protector/hitch guide that Tombie suggested, and the jobs done. From your pics, the taller ball and inverted tongue give you enough clearance, and if the hitch is catching on sharp turns, the plate hitch guide should push it back/swivel it out of the way if you turn that sharp. Re weights, I wouldn't stress too much, towbars will withstand well in excess of their ratings. Post a pic of it all hitched up, we can see if it 'looks right'. If it does, it usually is!

The cavalier attitude is fine until insurance companies get involved.
