To Woody we could add Janis Joplin.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Was Janis a great songwriter? I didn't know that.

She was a songwriter. She died aged 27, of a heroin overdose. Great ? No one will ever know.

Dylan may not turn up to the presentation .And there was a book of lyrics published, which could meet the criteria,I guess. Nothing takes away from his brilliance.

Looks like he is going to attend now (or at least try very hard to)after breaking the silence the other day. As stated I don't think people should have to live like Woody to not be a "sellout". If he didn't attend id probably call him a drama queen for 2 minutes then go back to listening to highway 61.

Just a heads up about Dylans' early work. He sourced most of his early songs from early American folk songs, and poetry. It wasn't until he matured, that he started writing his own songs. The fact that that coincided with the Vietnam War, propelled him into the American national consciousness.
