Anna Mears take a bow
I hear today Anna Mears retired from cycling. A true champion who came back from a broken neck to win an Olympic silver medal 7 months later.
Take a bow , you have nothing left to prove. I always admired how proud she was to represent her country.
Hopefully she will take up a role teaching our younger cyclist what it takes to be a champion.
What a shame some of our other sports people don't have the attitude she did.
Cheers Ean

She came back to win that Silver medal because they custom built a bike and frame that supported her upper body so she could still train her legs - the weight on her hands and went up to her neck. Crazy stuff and an absolute champ. Beat one of the greatest female track cyclists along the way as well.
