But will the consumer pay more for fuel??

I was a bowser boy when I was at school.....good pocket money, tax free.

When I was in NZ recently the fuel station near the airport had just started having one lady on as a driveway attendant.

Funny that you should suppose that a child should be better at choosing than an adult.
The only time i have ever had misfuelling was at a country service station in Thailand when a couple of kids assumed my Nissan Patrol was diesel and started filling it. I woke up quickly but they had put about 40 litres in before I could stop them.

On topic - I went to a couple of BP servos yesterday (spent 14 hours in the D4, like a lounge chair on wheels) and both had "Diesel Zones" for the convenience of Diesel drivers..

These were in the conventional pump areas not the truck areas...

There is still one fuel outlet providing full driveway service here in Kalgoorlie (used to be two until some Indians purchased the other one a couple of years ago and promptly ruined the business ).

My wife and I still buy our fuel only from the place which provides full driveway service, and no - we don't mind if the price might be a little higher than some of the others around town. Family owned business, run by husband and wife team and employing a couple of young kids (not theirs). Workshop facility leased out to another young local mechanic (who happens to be a bit of a Land Rover fan ).

On principle, I will NOT buy fuel from ANY service station affiliated with any of the major supermarket chains (nor do I shop at the two major supermarket chains if I can avoid it).
    Cheers .........

Just putting it out there. There has been enough talk about jobs , unemployed and with this particular issue the cost of wasted fuel repair bills for damaged vehicles and insurance premiums going up due to claims for wrong fuelling.
Also drive aways might be reduced. Nothing is free as we are told all too often.

Quite a few servo's in NZ do that...I suspect that it is more of a deterrent to 'drive offs', than a genuine attempt at service, but it certainly is a blast from the past to have the offer of help when refuelling.

Tired brain.... dumb mistake.. simple. ... it happens.
At least you were ridiculed for it. That's the main thing.
