Have been to Melrose twice - first time in the L322 with a tent, and the second time with the 101 towing the caravan. . I actually preferred the trip in the 101 more believe it or not - we travelled less distance each day, but saw more of the world and stopped more often. We did just on 4,000KM in 2 weeks meandering over and back, had a blast.

The 101 also holds a LOT more cases of wine it has to be said...

The L322 isolates you a lot from what's going on. If you just need to chew up the miles and get over as fast as possible and back again, it is the ideal vehicle, but the County would get you out in the fresh air more often to see the sights if you had the time.

The event caters for all Land Rovers - old or new with a good cross section of vehicles represented, but I'd say there were more newer than older 2 years ago the last time we went.

We did plan on making the trip again next year, but my Brother is getting Married and he lives in Darwin, so I won't have enough leave to do Corowa, Melrose and Darwin next year, so I think Melrose is out for us.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
