If your on Facebook maybe try the guy who runs Lost Perth. He's a train nut who likes to take photos of working ones so ge may be able to point you in the right direction.

The Steam loco is a G class. There are 2 still viable to run, one 2-6-0 and a 4-6-0... Not sure which one is down here getting work done on it, but one belonged to ARHS-WA and other from Boyanup belonged to the Bunbury shire(i think) and on loan to the original group that had Boyanup, which is now run by ARHS-WA...

I have driven the old B-class in Boulder, about 25 years ago now.. Use to be able to go all the way out to a place near the pub with the shaft behind the bar.. (Piccadilly, I think the siding was called).. All that is gone now, just a big hole where it used to be...

    Thank you BMKal..

We were here when you would have been driving it. The pub with the shaft behind the bar was the Boulder Block, and the siding you went to would have been Fimiston. Piccadilly is where we live - over the other side of town near where the hospital is (and on the other side of the main Trans railway line). The loopline never got out this far - the line stopped at the top of Hannan Street I believe (and that was many years ago).

Current proposal is to install a new line from Boulder station to the super pit lookout (which is not too far from where the Boulder Block would have been located). But although I have read in the local news that they have been given the money to do this and that progress is being made - I have seen no sign of any new sections of track being laid, nor of any re-conditioning of the old track that is in that area. Most of the old track is still in place between Boulder station and the road which runs up to the lookout, so I don't think they would have too much to do.

So, were you a driver with Westrail. If so, we might have come across each other somewhere in the past. I used to be a guard, but was based in West Merredin - although frequently worked a lot of trains to Kalgoorlie and knew quite a few of the drivers & guards up here.
    Cheers .........

I was a driver, but not railways... My trains where roadtrains.. I been an enthusiast of railways since I was born basically... Neighbour to my grandparents, had model trains... Seen them, and I was hooked... Doesn't matter what I have done in life or changed, I am still hooked on trains... I was working in Kal for a short while and was introduced to the Loop Line, as a possible driver for the B class.. Wasn't there long enough to make a difference, but got to do a few runs...

I kind of got to know people in most groups around the state, but always hang back... Some thing to do with Severe Anxiety... I do more interaction with others on line than I do in person...

Ahhh Merriden, was carting into there from Mt Walker, only last year... Good thing about grain handling, get to travel around areas where there are, or have been trains...

I'm a bit late to this post, so you may have found something that suits.
There is an old carriage, with the front and rear verandah in Guildford.
Alfies, the burger place in Guildford has an old restored carriage there as a dining room.
