That time of the year again....

    This was this morning
The first one is frozen condensation on the inside of the roof on the LR 88. It melts as the vehicle warms up and cascades down. Talk about a cold shower......
The last one is mist creeping in to the lower valleys.
Much the same as posts for snow in previous years so I didn't go mad with the photos.

Over here it's spiders, lizards and snakes wanting to set up home in your vehicle at this time of year to find shade and shelter. Also, ant trails across the bonnet in the morning.

Considering I live in the HOT tropics & we think it's cold if the temp is in the low teens, I have always wondered what it would be like to live in properly cold climes?
You can be thankful that your posts & pics have totally put me off the idea & I will happily wear shorts & thongs (Flip Flops) for the rest of my life.

PS I, of course, have an everyday & a going out pair of thongs.

I did the same area wearing shorts earlier in the year
Today everything is crispy white with frost again, with crackling grass when you walk on it.
The "thong" bit made me laugh! In warmer months I get slug trails over the Land Rover....
P.S. It is below zero and the edges of the bay are frozen...Just hold that thought and the pictures next time you are crossing the Simpson with the aircon working overtime.

Pictures look nice but I have no regrets on leaving winters behind. Twenty or more below with a howling wind is not a nice environment. I laugh at those who say it is easy to rug up for the cold !

We had 38degC today, had to go to a sodbusters fire. Was very nasty for some time.
Didn't enjoy cutting firebreaks thru 4 foot tall wheat crops that were read to harvest. Not very safe.
All under control, the farmers will be mopping up after that fire for a few days. Its the second one this season, had one last week too.Record crops everywhere so its going to be a bad fire season.

    I'm with ya Jonesy.
When I bought my coach I was shown how to let the pressure out of the tag axle air bags, assuring me that I would need to when in the snow. I assured him I would never need to.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

    Those were the days.
Growing up in pommy land I regularly had icicles on the inside of my bedroom window on Winters mornings. The only heat in the house was provided by a gas ring in the Kitchen where six of us somehow managed to get washed and dressed. The radiator at school was a thing of great beauty to me.
    cheers,

I grew up early milking 150 cows before school. In winter the mud was frozen and the milking cups were so cold we had to warm them in buckets of hot water before putting them on the cow's teats or they would jump and kick us. In summer they were occasionally too hot. And this was in Australia.

    Ian.
You may need to know how to do that if you ever camp off solid ground.
One sod-buster I dod some work for had a POS Louiville with a CAT V8 and a tag axle.It was a pig to get moving in soft dirt.If you didn't let the air out of the tag you weren't going anywhere soon.
