Of course it doesn't always cost $153,000 to have a snake bite treated in America.

A quick Duck Duck Go (just like Google only better) search reveals that some snake bite victims in America have been charged as little as $146,000 or even $89,000 to have a snake bite treated.

I know some people who call Nelson Mandela a terrorist. Perhaps in a way he was. Extreme conditions called for extreme actions.

Castro did a good thing getting rid of the corrupt Batiste regime, but then lots of bad things happened under his rule.
Obama's move to improve relations with Cuba will hopefully continue to improve the situation for ordinary Cubans, but some people just love to hate.

BTW that US medical bill is staggering. It's amazing to think that some Americans actually criticise Obama for introducing Obamacare, when actually it was a great achievement.

they do .... to some degree

Australia spends 8.9% of its GDP on health care.

The Unites States of America spends 17.7% of its GDP on health care with poorer outcomes and NOT all the population are covered.

The USA relies heavily on the private market for health care.

Most OECD countries have adopted publicly funded universal health care because they believe it is the most efficient means of delivering high quality health care for the whole population.

the figures show that 10% spent up front saves 30-80% on future costs when talking about preventable disease according to stats i read a while ago.

how true are they, no idea

i would love to hear from those in the professions to see if that sort of stat is anywhere near accurate.

those sorts of stats say to me that we can not afford not to be doing it otherwise the next generation id going to be paying for it.

I'm sure if you organised a 'group buy' on snake bite treatments they would make it cheaper..
Yank doctors also have high fees, ever watched the Doctors on the TV program 'The Doctors', look at all the expensive plastic faces they have, some one has to pay for all that

I need Medicare. Otherwise I have to pay my Health insurance company the difference. I Know that lets my Insurance company off the hook but money's tight these days.
    Cheers, Billy.
    Keeping it simple is complicated.
