Haven't had any problems with Tramadol, I had been on it for the last 8 years, then stopped taking it regulary and only take it when i really need it, so had no adverse withdrawal symptoms,
but different story when I stopped taking the prescribed hi dosages of 6 tablets a night of anti depressants with out medical supervision, I just wanted to die, it was I suppose like a heroine junkie going cold turkey,,, it hurt a lot inside and I wanted to die it was so bad.
1st wife was diabetic - thighs are the way to go. She also had a travel injector? which could administer the insulin when out and about - rather than use a hypodermic - it looked a bit friendlier.
cheers,
D

Damn, that sucks bigtime Mario.
No doubt with all the right advice and procedures from your consultants and doctors, you'll be fit as a fiddle soon.
Thanks for sharing your experiences guys, it takes guts to spill the beans sometimes.
Your biggest problem will be disposing the sharps.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
Sorry for the news Mario.
My one small input is a practical one.
If you cut or scrape yourself, treat it seriously dont shrug it off as "it'll be right its just a scratch"
I.E use antiseptic and maybe a bandaid etc.
Infections for diabetics can happen quickly from the simplest of minor injuries and turn nasty in a very short space of time.
Im sure you doc has old you that.
Diabetes is in epidemic proportions in the Central Aust. and we carry large numbers of folk suffering badly caused from the smallest of cuts that patients ignored as initially petty.
Andy I have been taking 2 x 200 slow release trams for a while, it's only recently I stopped taking them and go and do meditation and lie down and have nanna naps during the day when it gets to much for me , that's the advantage on running my business the way I do. ( I couldn't do that if employed by some one)
I know all about slow healing, I have a lot of slow healing scabs, I have large scrape on my lower leg and that's taken about 12 months to properly heal see pic.

Some days my feet would be numb and have very little feeling, this freaked me out.
You also have to be careful cutting your toe nails
Also with diabetic nervosis i have , nerve damage cause by diabetes, it was like having shingles on the soles of my feet, when I was in Japan, I had trouble walking ( hobbling) for the 1st days days, it was very painful I can tell you and took a lot of enjoyment out of the holiday. I also get sharp shooting pains run down my leg to my feet, no pleasant.
The other thing we have to worry about is blindness in extreme cases.
so take care every one, and those that haven't checked there blood glucose get it checked, as this silent disease creeps up on you.
Especially if you wee more than normally it's a sign of your body expelling sugar
Sounding a cautionary note for everyone here, especially those with any medical credentials.... your future is in danger if you give ANY 'dietary' advice to Roverlord or indeed anyone...
Think I'm joking ? - check this link, a Doctor/Surgeon who used to advise his diabetic patients to cut back on sugar... "Crucified for trying to help his patients and prevent (further?) limb loss.

Similar thing going on in South Africa with Emeritus Professor Tim Noakes, when he gave a dietary suggestion on "Twitter", - seen by a Dietician who took exception...and reported him to the relevant (SA) governing body.
Over there the court case is not hidden, as was the proceedings here in Oz.
Follow the links from the above, and you will learn a lot - (take the diversions into any info about Low Carb/High fat eating styles as well.) - some of it not overly palatable if you're a devotee of Modern Conventional Medicine....![]()
