Even bluetooth can be too distracting. My Boss rang me the other day regarding EBA and The replacements of permanents who had retired. This required careful tactical thinking. When The conversation was over, I was stuffed if I could remember that part of the journey traveled during the conversation. That's pretty bad.
The Texters however, should have their Phones impounded.
    Cheers, Billy.

My opinion, is the dumb ones will eventually breed themselves out. For everything else there's law enforcement.

Muslim part aside (I don't know why you mentioned, this, it has nothing to do with the story), you were lucky you weren't beaten, stabbed or shot. Wouldn't be the first time a 'good samaritan' gets the wrong end of the pineapple.
No easily worked up, but the fact there is enough road trauma around, and when you put young kids in to a situation which they have no control over, i if some thing unfortunate was to happen then the result would me multi. If you just shut up and turn a blind eye then the message might not sink in. I hope that she will take this on board in the future and maybe not do it again. We can't all just sit around the campfire sing kum by yah ( spelling) to the tune of a squeaky recorder. and just let things pass all the time.
As for being a Muslim, no I didn't have to mention it but it was the fact. I could of just uploaed the dash cam footage and said nothing and let the viewers spot the jihab instread

Yes i have seen truck drivers do the same
But ill let you on to something majority of truck drivers are professional that understand their phyiscal size and the impact it could cause also dont want to run out of points = loss of licence .
And yes if i had a dollar for every car driver i saw id be very rich and never have to work again but as for the truck drivers doing it id have to keep working

[QUOTE=Roverlord off road spares;2615639]Was driving down Narre Warren road this arvo as see a young Muslim woman driving a mini bus ( toyota coaster type ) full of very young children, most probably from some Muslim preschool?? , no sign writing on the bus other wise I would have dobbed her into the organisation..
One hand on the wheel and talking on the mobile phone with the other, I pulled into a servo and behind me she also pulls into the servo still with phone to ear., she gets out, still with phone to ear.

Is it not unsafe to use a mobile phone in a service station Too

I wondered this also and read the post a couple of times to try to understand the relevance. Then I realised it was a subconscious comment to reinforce Muslim hate, the perception that young muslim women are subservient to older non-muslim(and probably muslim) men and also that she was acting in defiance.

I'm surprised she got out of the servo without a good old stoning!
    Cheers

I was travelling down the highway locally and was next to a TASPOL marked suv. At 100kmh The lady officer was on her phone. There was no loghts flashing etc and it was just a xtrail or similar.

I rang the police non emergency line after i got home and asked very politely why this is acceptable and surely they should be leading by example to the general public, and why isn't every police car fitted with mandatory bluetooth or handsfree , after all the taxpayer would br happy to contribute to roadsafety. I even offered to start a cloud funding program....😇😅.

I was bluntly informed that " we are allowed to use the mobile ph while driving for operational reasons.".

That still in my opinion isn't good enough as the tech is available to equip vehicles with state of the art comms and handsfree devices and all emergency services response vehicles should have this.

    This was exactly my point.
The racial stereotypes / fearmongering didn't sit well with me. I know some very nice muslim people. Nicer than some other people I know, if it matters.
I also am not a fan of vigilante justice- no matter how passive-agressive. Yes there could be innocent casualties, and it would be a terrible shame (irrespective of race/creed) but that's a pretty big 'what-if', and really, not anyone other than a police officer's place to say otherwise.
They do enforce it. Ask my partner how she knows
(I also secretly hope they crack down on indicating left out of round-abouts and sticking to the speed limit on the B roads. Trust me, I've tried, and I'm not getting thru.)

It's not only, as far as I'm concerned, that they are breaking the law and putting others in danger, it's the example they're setting for those same kids.
Woman up the road from me regularly drives past my place with kids in car on the way to school, with no seat belt on, mobile or fag or drink in one hand, quite often gobbing off on the phone.
In the arvo back she comes and kids are hanging out the windows shouting and screaming....obviously with no seat belt on.
Eldest boy was often allowed to ride around the streets on an unlicensed motor bike. Someone dobbed him in and it wasn't me only because I couldn't give a stuff about them and what they do.
But the point of all this is, what sort of example is she and her old man setting for the kids about on road behaviour?
It's certainly not one where they respect the law and other people.

You two are the only ones putting a racial slant on it
I and many others glossed over it with out a second thought who or what sex or religion were driving the car

Have experienced this as well.....I now pull over at first opportunity when the conversation is going to be lengthy and involved.
