Do people actually read ads before they buy.?

Got an email today from ebay in regards to a purchase of a DISCOVERY 2 TD5 hose kit, customer wants a FULL refund as WE sent the wrong hose kit, they claim it WONT fit their DEFENDER TD5!

And they WANT US to pay for the return postage also!
    ,

Our listing clearly says in the title and in the description that it suits Discovery 2 TD5 and lists what vin is applies to.

I'm just amazed how people buy stuff these days without even reading what they are buying, do the just see key words like TD5 and presume one fits all. seems to happen a lot more these days.

I don't mind refunding if it was a genuine mistake and the items come back in the same resellable condition as they were sent, but for something that is not our fault and to want us to pay for return costs and loose money spent sending it in the first place is a bit rich!.

I have been in touch with ebay and they said it is buyer error and it was nice of me to even offer a refund .

    Regards, Mario

    LOL!

and then these idiots then go out into the bush thinking they know what they're doing out there too.

I reckon humanity has reached limits of increasing our collective intelligence, as this appears to be more common.
It used to be true that the next generation would eventually have learned more than the last generation, and I reckon the addiction to social media has reversed this progression.

The further we progress into the future, the bleaker the outlook!

A few days ago, for some unkown reason, one suburban Adelaide fuel retailer raised their price of unleaded petrol to $199.9c/L. Most other retailers were around $129.9c/L. Customers were filling up, then complaining to the sales operator about the price.

Yep, people get on my bus without even looking at the desto board on the front of the bus and then tell me I am going the wrong way. I mean it is a basic function to have a look to see where the bus is going BEFORE you get on, I would have thought.

Mario - nowadays, simple answer is no, and if they do stuff up, won't take any responsibility for it. They seem to know their rights though.....

And postage back to the UK for those tight wads that think are smart for not supporting a local buisness would be a killer also
I guess any saving they thought they had has just cost them more than supporting a local

Consumer laws actually are in the customers favor, they can buy some thing and if it is not fit for the purpose they can legally return it.
(Change of mind is not an acceptable excuse though) The thing that gets me is they can rip open a packet, destroy the packaging , and return stuff it does not have to be in original packing , and the retailer has to then try an resell merchandise that now looks second hand.

If we stuff up, we pay for postage costs, although in reality we are not obliged to pay for postage to and from us to customer, but I feel if it's our fault and no fault of the customer, then why should a customer be penalised and pay for the postage. Many companies will say return freight or postage is the responsibility of the customer.

I generally find that with most customers, if you bend the rules sometimes they come back as loyal customers, you build up a good rapport.

There's also a way to handle things, if this customer had said, look I mad a mistake and purchased this item, and can I return it, then things would have been ok.
But to send a 'Incorrect item sent' notice and that seller fully refund and seller to pay for return postage costs.
Gets the hackles up a bit.
