    Hot Russell Island

was working there last night. only loss I believe was 2 houses. we saw some vintage landies this morning and wondered who owned them.
whole place could use a hazard reduction burn. we did a lot last night around houses.

We were sitting back in Fishermans watching for a few hours just in case any evacuations were needed.
Police put us on standby overnight.
Some flareups on friday but thankfully none injured or needing evacuation.

    transport to Russell.

Our transport to Russell was via the police landing barge. Geez that thing could move Unfortunately only 12 people at a time. Two loads to get the night rfs crew over there. think the last time I was on anything like that was Balikpapan.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Sorry only got to talk to the deckie briefly as he did the safety brief then moved to the upper deck outside. Very pleasant way to start a night shift.
