the qld rail saga is getting interesting at times
been using public transport a fair bit over the last couple of weeks to visit my mother
a bit under 4 hours travel each time going from my part of the world to hers, and back.
go card setup is great i have to say, and the translink phone app is a very handy bit of software
the lastest kafaffle with qld rail and lack of drivers has made for some interesting travel arrangements
wednesday night the train i usually catch home from roma street was supposed to land on platform 9 at 30 past the hour
at 12 past the hour is was moved to platform 8
at 18 past the hour it moved to platform 7
it finally landed, we all boarded, went one station to central and we were all instructed that the train was now an airport bound train so we had to disembark and move to the train that was on the other side of the platform, and which was the original airport bound train.
lots of asians with very little understanding of english were caught out and had to disembark at northgate and go back to eagle junction to get on another train to the airport.. oops...
todays train down to brisbane left caboolture station as a all stops to petrie then express to northgate and would be all stops from bowen hills to milton then express to indooropilly then express to ipswich
at petrie they announced it would now become an all stops to milton and terminate at redbank service
makes the trip to roma street roughly 30 min longer in peak hours
what really caused some issues was the internal on train signage and announcements were still bleating the usual express setup ..
i haven't got the best hearing and really struggled to keep up with all the shenanigans.
how the hell those with limited english skills, vision or severe hearing impairment coped i have no idea...
madness!
