I got a few heavy spots and that was about it.
I see the usual dips under bridges in South Melbourne got flooded. I see the usual drove into them.
It's muggy now. Another sleepless night ahead.

Was brilliant experience for the L plater in my house

At one point we were driving through water 8 inched deep in the middle lane on Eastlink!

    Left lake lane was closed...

Rather glad we were in the D4 rather than the Astra

The water in the street was actually a torrent, with a whirlpool at the storm water drain, yet it amazed me to see a spanker accelerate his Caddy mini van and drive through it at speed, I was waiting for the big engine stall , then I could sit at my front porch and watch him float away, I would not have bothered to offer help and get wet in the process, he could have easily done a U turn and gone into the next street to go where he was going..

Funny you should mention that, she puts the garbage out every week, I'm not allowed to as she reckons I don't do it correctly.

After retrieving our wheelie bin when the water subsided, I had to also retrieve the bags of rubbish, some it which was bagged cat poo, The neighbor across the road was very keen to return it to me

Didn't the old Morries have a sticker on the back window saying, ''floats on fluid" ?
Well, this spanker thought his Jap car floated on fluid also, and guess what he was correct.

Well inspected the house stumps today and can see the footings exposed, this flood washed away the surround supporting soil. other structural damage also so on the phone to insurance long wait. Found the creek behind on neighboring property had its barrel drain over grown and a pallet blocking the drain entry, so hence I copped the whole creek water through my place, So not happy Jan, onto the council next as they used to maintain it.

Tell us about it, I went to council offices, was told the Easement is on private property, 1 drain is private and not their responsibility, the other with the pallet blocking it, they will get their infrastructure dept to investigate, but was told an act of nature, even with 50 drains it wouldn't have coped with the amount of water!. Lack of maintenance I said.
So we have a creek bed and it goes into a 60cm round barrel drain.
    Claim on your insurance.
Yes, who pays the $1000 excess? Interesting Shannons asked if I would like to pay my excess now or after the assessor comes, I said the later
