North Brisbane Landrover owners club. Expression of intrest

Noz, I hear your frustration. I am on the Gold Coast and the only club close enough I found was the Range Rover Club in Brisbane. I joined but have only managed one meeting and one trip so far in just over a year - bloody good trip mind you https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ . I too have a small family and sporadic work commitments so attending meetings in Brisbane has really become not an option.
Because of this, a few of us decided to put our heads together on the Gold Coast and see if we could get something happening down here. There are plenty of rover drivers on the coast and in a relatively short space of time, we (with the hard work and commitment from Outlaw I might add) had a Gold Coast club up and running. If it wasn't for this club, it would have been ages before I met the guys who I now go out driving with. Our club is very new and is attempting to be as active as possible in the hope that we grow members and cater for all.
But the club has certainly answered my needs plus a number of others on the coast who simply want to get out, drive our rovers and meet regularly in a convenient location for a chin wag and laugh at footage taken from the most recent trips https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

Mick, glad that the GC Land Rover club is going along well. The only trip you did with the RRC was mine, good choice https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

I was talking to a couple of fellow RRC members and the best solution to the problem was to run trips on both sides of Brisbane. The northside has the best state forsests anyway, the ones on the sothside are glorified 2WD tracks and a waste of my time :x

Moving the meetings maybe an option, but the issue is people loose track what month is where and would throw the club into confusuion. It's written in the mag every month, but who thinks top check it?

On another note, they do have a Northside Suzuki 4WD club so it's possible for a LR club to do the same.

I think it has been pointed out already that the LROC Brisbane has its meetings at Moorooka as that is where the FWDQLD association hall is.

I certainly understand all of the arguments around the pressure of leaving the wife with the kids to go "galivanting" off to a Land Rover meeting.

However, in the new year we are looking at better ways of disseminating information to our members. We already have a monthly newsletter that is posted to all financial members. It contains all information and topics covered at that months meeting. We are hoping that this will be available in electronic form as well in the new year.

Our web site also has a secure members area which will be used for members only information about trips, events news etc. it will be kept up to date and relevant.

Therefore, our efforts to improve the information flow and make this more accessible should mean that if you miss a meeting, you will still have access to all the pertinant information.

We certainly welcome new members from anywhere, and with new members comes new ideas and it means we can add to the variety of trip levels and destinations.

Again, not tyring to discourage you from forming a club just letting you know about some initiatives designed to help people who cannot always attend our meetings.

The meeting location doesn't really matter... It's getting the leave pass for the night. Monday is a child care day, so we're al a bit tired, but I will make the occasional one https://www.aulro.com/afvb/
