Make me wonder how there's obviously such a large black market for something that has been illegal for many years in NSW and some time in the ACT.
We used to get idiots setting them off at all hours of the night when you could buy them in Canberra but the frequency does not seem to have dropped since they were taken off sale there. A big one went off at about 05:00 this morning.
You'd reckon there would be a bit more police interest in the illegal sale of fireworks.....

We had a regular customer that used to order stuff from us almost every couple of days for his disco 1. We would post it. We were very pleased with the sales to him, then one day this fantastic loyal customer stopped buying.

We then watched the News and saw the address that police raid and arrested our customer on explosive charges.

May be he was a suicide bomber and was making sure his disco was reliable enough to get him to his destination????

They must be pretty easy to get - the amount that were let off around our place the other night was a lot more than I remember from previous years - they were going off for over half an hour - hundreds of them all up - and close to our place was a very good show from only 2 doors away - went for several minutes and it was only one of the dogs that didn't enjoy it.

Sure saves me from buying any with everyone else doing it. I wouldn't even know where to begin getting them from. And we're not talking small ones either - these were big commersial suckers launched from mortars - the same style that killed those 2 people. It's one thing to have a few small crackers, but the big ones are full on explosives - not to be taken lightly, but yet there's a lot out there obviously doing so.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
