The old Telstra 78 series utes used to do that too.
and the Patrols would crack the rear hangers and the Defenders the rear Sals axle tubes, which is why they introduced the Wolf rear end to the Telstra extended cab 130's.

Even attached to a Jeep they still break
That is a mates of mine Jeep. I think it is a Dana 60 front diff with RCV axles and is well trussed.
I have not spoken to him directly but someone else I know was at Cliff hanger and spoken to the driver. What I was told was he came out of a hole on the back two wheels, did a pivot turn on one rear wheel and when the front end came down landed in another hole. Knowing him he was probably at full noise as well!
Well done that man to break it so well.
There has always been some who prefer the Rover banjo type housing over the pressed Dana type housings for this reason.
Pretty much the saddest diff housing I've ever seen.[bigrolf]

Had this happen tonight, took about halfa to cut it all off. Had to unwind it off the diff flange it had tightly wrapped itself around a fair few times. Never had it happen this bad before https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...eae3acf996.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a15bbbc96c.jpg
About sixty years ago I got about two panels of dog netting wrapped round my tailshaft!
Not my pic, and not the first time this has been posted, but good for a laugh nonetheless
