If not when they started, certainly by when they ended. Interesting, Odd or Funny Pics II. SWMBO would kill me for putting that much into it, but it appears to be a great setup.

Here in Adelaide there is a Trailer mounted Merlin in the raw as is that Allison V12.

Ear shattering to say the least. Is owned & operated at shows by some Historical Aviation nutters.

I seem to recall it had an aux. Fan blade fitted to give it a bit of air cooling over the engine & load I suppose.

I actually overheard someone ask post run, why there were no Muffler Boxes fitted? Deeeeeerrrrr, it is an aircraft engine matey.

Maybe he didn't realise what he was looking at?

I totally agree & why I believe having an Ensuite access from the bedroom is really knackers & have never had such a monstrosity.

"Yes Darling, I'm coming straight back to bed for you, BTW, my arse is freezing & after that huge crap I now need a decent old fart. Voice from bedroom. "Aw forget it, g'night"

Who was it said "Romance was dead"?

I would have thought the prop would serve as part of the flywheel

I should have mentioned, the Prop as I can recall was only aprox 18" diam. It wasn't a standard Lancaster or Mosquito prop, Paul.
