A bit more of our family history, my Grandmothers mother was schooled with the Czar's children , her father was head gardener for the Czar. When my Grandfather left Russia he left money behind so his brother & sister could follow should they want. His brother also came to Australia but his sister stayed in Russia . A couple of my cousins have gone to Russia in search of family without results. One of them did get close but the person in Russia chose not to meet with him .
Must have been KGB. [bigrolf] They should have said, "Ve haff vays to make you talk". They'd understand that no doubt?[bawl]
Could have threatened them with a "Chinese Wrist Burn", every school kid knew what they were, well, in the olden days we did.:BigCry::Rolling:

One of the many motorsport sites I follow is about early TQ ( three quarter) midgets. This class later evolved into Formula 500. I was pleasantly surprised to spot a flashback from 60 odd years ago
At the 13 second mark, there is a car with ( what appears to be) a large circle painted on the rear quarter. It is infact a car number MN1 ( Moe/Newbourough 1). This is my Dad in 62 or 63. Still hunting through the old family photos my Mum took, probably on a box brownie. [smilebigeye]. I do still have his (that) helmet.

Had forgotten about the Petrovs. I wonder what actually did happen to them?
As I recalled they both got elbowed off in Darwin. I suppose they are sunning themselves (if they are still kicking that is) on some now defunct resort on some semi-tropical island somewhere up north & drawing Centrelink full Pensions & eating Lobster every day at our expense.
It did sell newspapers so that is alright then.:BigCry: :Rolling:
EDIT.
