Maybe Gav but it doesn't look so, the tyres certainly aren't.

    I'll bet this was fun...

Russian pilot got a decoration for getting this down. Hailstones "the size of cricket balls" damaged(!) his aircraft on approach.

Nah, probably not lightning. More likely primer cord and demolition charges to clear out the channel. Awesome effect though.

Yes. Lightening doesn't make brown smoke, or any other kind of smoke. It strikes at a fairly tight point, with a blinding flash, that is over in an instant and a splash which usually goes straight up. At least thats what it's done when I've seen it. Also, there seems to have been some kind of submerged vessel in the water, which may have been the reason for the unblocking operation.
    Cheers, Billy.

and you can add that lightning is not going to avoid entering the earth via the shortest path (tree/hill etc) to travel some way just above ground to enter the water and travel downstream. Impressive though.
    Cheers,

    Not lightning.

This video was uploaded to Youtube by Finnish water engineering company Rannikon Merityö in 2012, under the title “Porapaalutusta, osa 3: Räjäytys” (Drilling rig, part 3: Blasting). Although this clip was not accompanied by any additional information, the video was included on the company’s web site on a page about underwater mining and blasting:

I bet we'd make brown smoke (or brown something) if we got hit by lightning.

But yes, in this case, not lighting - bet there's some easy fishing to be had though...

Given that lighting-like race to the water, it's more like man-made lightning though!
