Yes, the waterproof cover on the side entry Dist caps were a problem, BMC bought out a waterproof kit vas am extra that was a hard cover that covered the distributor, sparkplugs & coil, looked like it was made of Bakelite or the cardboard stuff they made the battery covers out of that was treated with something so they wouldn't get water affected, they worked well. With the top entry caps the problem wasn't as bad, a spray with WD40 before heavy rain usually kept the moisture out. A piece of hard plastic / metal behind the grill in front of the distributor usually fixed the problem.
The problem boots Attachment 181266 The accessory cover was similar to this without the red part & was held on with a twist clip Attachment 181267
I suggest the problem with the boots was condensation on the inside.
I had a semi-rigid moulded piece of plastic that covered the dissie cap on my Morris Nomad. It didn't seal the dissie, it was open underneath so condensation wasn't a problem. That fixed the wet weather problem although I can't remember if I needed a cover on the coil.
Rubber glove pulled over the distributor, taped on, helped as well.

Maybe not so gormless. I reckon it means you can park for two hours Max if you rock up between 7 & 8. ie, Arrive at 7 stay until 9 arrive at 8 stay until 10
Hey, maybe that is bloody gormless after al.
The Boss probably scribbled his/her instructions on the back of a fag Packet.
About 20 years ago i was driving up the beach to Rainbow Beach and reached the rocks to see a Holden Rodeo perched on the rocks. I called out to a spectator nearby whether he knew where the driver was so I could pull him out. Too late he said, It's been there 3 days. It was brand new and being driven home by the Rainbow Beach Shell station owner.
I was in the same place about 3 weeks ago after threading my way through all the tree trunks on the beach, but even at dead low there was deep water around the rocks. Everyone was waiting patiently until some ****** in a pretty new Hilux came around from Rainbow beach with water cascading over the roof.
Some people have **** for brains.

Don't you remember the ad a few years ago where a lux ends up in the ocean, then later appears out of the surf on a beach?
