A cray boat (big aluminium planing hull) I do data collection aboard every year replaced the last of a series of Volvo donks with a Scania a couple of years ago.
They generally fish the same places and approx number of days every year, so they know fuel consumption......... which went from 37 l/hr to 24.
Has a bit more poke too......... I could feel the difference when it was put in gear and taking off to pull the next pot.

Yeah, joke all you want, I’ll take the Scania any day over pretty much anything else. The 2 at work are dreams to drive. They are also the only Manufacturer we can get full air all around on the combinations we have - twin steer bogey drives. With 560HP and most trips around 15 to 20 tonnes there aren’t many others that can keep up through the hills either.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
I wasn't joking... Coming out of Coonabarrabran, going up the 'Bungles with two trailers loaded with cotton ( if you've ever carried it you'll know ), the 730 would leave all the others on the same run for dead. Going from Melb to Brisvegas with a load of pillows was a hoot. My only complaint was we didn't get the bigger cab versions other markets get. It was a little cramped to live in. That V8 though....
