I guess CO2 emitting Land Rovers must have been around longer than first thought.

The 179/149 cast into the block started with the HD. The EH 149 had no identifying numbers cast into it.
Yep, the HP is nothing special. It was just a code to identify it apart from the 149. The HP was dropped and was then just cast as 179 IIRC.

And vineyards between London and Durham area... Ever wondered why Roman Villas etc were so open to te breeze ? - ALL year round.... Might have something to do with being warm-ish for most of the year, and hot for the rest. A few Centuries after Romans left Blighty, the locals had a mini Ice-Age, where the Thames froze so solid that Fayres and events and markets were held on it... - During winter of course.

We're headed for another chilly time, and for same reason, our Sun cycling down to a 'Grand Solar Minimum'.

Probably the only video from this guy I could post here. Couple of years ago, but just as true now as it was then.

My Dad, who was a mad keen photographer, had a B&W photo of a Mosquito & a Beaufighter on the tarmac at Longreach airport.
It would have been taken in the 50's I think, that is when he was working out that way.

Maybe, but I am not sure where.
Could be Ravenshoe, could be Cloncurry but definitely not Doomadgee.
I lost a lot of his stuff in a house move where boxes went missing from the removals truck in the 90's.
