What Tins said. Makes perfect sense in the Melbourne CBD which is a grid-based system. I used to drive a lot in the city (I drove armoured cars during my Uni years and lived in Carlton) and the hook turns allows the free flow of trams (and trams are a good thing) without impeding traffic flow. Never understood why people had a problem with them.
I wonder how many $$$$$ here? There are four or five, late model samples directly below me, out of sight.
