Kudos to the Colombian government welcome, if it had been anywhere in Australia the cars would surely have been defected.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

						Hi -
I am a history professor at Marywood University in the US working on an article about driving and tourist experiences in the DR Congo/ex-Zaire from the late 60s to the early 90s. I've interviewed about a dozen tourists and tour company truck drivers. If you are up for it, I'd like to interview you or send a short survey to you. I know how random this is! Anyway, feel free to reach out. I was on the Kinshasa to Kikwit road in 23 and it only took me one day believe or not! Jeremy Rich jrich at marywood.edu
I just checked my load restraint guide. The above pic shows insufficient number of cable ties.
The manual states and I quote.
1/There should be a minimum of four cable ties on each corner with two through each hole.
2/ Cable ties should have a minimum width of 3 mm and comply to Australian Standard 30215 Appendix 3 section 4, clause 6.11
Dave.
I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

I wonder if they've ever heard of roof load limits.

Are they 10 litre jerries on the front? What's off the tailgate? Extra roof rack?

Looks like there might be a bit of bend in the chassis.
