    With regard to rule Number 1. Yo don't always get a choice when they feed lines out each side of the anchor. With regard to Number 2 ; the correct terminology is the bite, although it occasionally looks like a bow.

    Your one would be a tad difficult to take on Picnics & jolly olde Hols though, even if it came with a Neck Strap, where as the Brownie was more your Point & Shoot. After a fashion.

    Is that related to line dancer? Tugging is involved there IIRC.
