I used to walk past 36 every day on my way to catch the tram into the city - until I rose to the status of getting a company car and being expected to drive it into the city. That would have been about 1980.

I was so confused I thought you were talking about Kew in NSW. When you mentioned the tram to the city I was double baffled for a minute! Kew in Victoria! 😂
I dunno who thought it's a good idea to make fifty towns with the same names and streets but Australia loves doing it

Have a look at a map of the UK and have a think about transplanted poms swatting flies in the heat in Straya.

If you squint enough then Kew looks like Kew.
