I was down here for my breakfast this morning. A little misty with a brisk breeze blowing. I arrived wearing shorts as I was down yesterday and it was nice and sunny. I had to change out of the shorts before I started dining this morning! Tide was out but there is always something going on to amuse me. A couple of hardy well wrapped up souls had launched a small and were trying there luck. I kept taps on them with my binoculars.
I bring something to eat for breakfast in a plastic container. One morning I was sitting on the bench pouring out my tea when the wind caught my plastic container and blew it onto the gravel beach. There was not much of my breakfast left by the time I caught up with the container!
It is only about a ten minute drive from the house so I go there frequently and sit with the binoculars
Like I said in a recent post dealing with the same subject, the simple things in life
European, or perhaps Russki. Could be off anything, especially from the FIAT group. My Dad had a Niva. Strong little bugger. Switches and things like the pedal box could have been lifted from my 125.
Peter Brock ( RIP ) did the PD on Dad's Niva and Mum's Samara. Surprised he ever won a race. The Samara lasted three weeks before it went back. Personally, I like my doors to stay on. Niva was better. I had to fix the loose tappet adjustment, came undone so much the car wouldn't go, and Dad didn't want to take it back to the stealer. But, Dad hit a tree head on in that car, not highway speeds but fast enough. They fixed it. I like Nivas ( not enough to want one ), but they are small, but not as small as the Holden Drover he had before it.

Possibly more interesting than what passes for the real thing these days.
