?Whilst attending the Coldplay concert with a subordinate staff member, I drew in close to explain that ?Yellow? was in fact my wife's favourite Coldplay song. Due to the loud rhythmic nature of the music our hips began to bump and grind and somehow my arms became enmeshed around her chesticle area. As I did not wish to cause any unnecessary embarrassment to my colleague by unenmeshing my arms, they remained that way until the end of the performance. As far as I am concerned this is the end of the matter.?

I am not sure if this is the right place for this. Although not a pic per se, I did find in fascinating.

Mods, feel free to move if you wish.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

And there are lots of other things around us whose size was dictated by the need to move the early ones of them at least by rail. And this includes motor vehicles. While motor vehicles significantly wider than the loading gauge of typical railways exist, they are not used very much, because they are too wide for a lot of roads. Which were sized for vehicles that were designed to be transported by rail.

Yes, rail dictated so many things, as did the UK canals before it. Funny, in the US the massive turnpike network came into being due to one POTUS' fear of the Russians invading.Large military complexes were built at the intersections. A large number of roads in Germany were built or realigned and strengthened for similar reasons. The battle was expected to be fought with main battle tanks. In Melbourne trams and cars, trucks etc fight each other for space on roads that were designed for neither.

Went in to town today and came across a few old codgers travelling the world. The Swiss bloke finds it a bit difficult, with his 'Left-hand Drive' set-up, especially when having to overtake. I think there's a Canadian there, too.

Sydney roads weren't even designed initially. The only consideration being, the path of least resistance and subsequently the lack of anyone in New South Wales having the inkling of an idea, how to design a road, or so it would seem.
    Cheers, Billy.
    Keeping it simple is complicated.
