We moved from 6 bedrooms, 2 floors, formal and causal lounge, games room etc house with pool and triple garage..

To a 2 bedroom bungalow! And built a 4 bay workshop.
One lounge, small 1946 kitchen....

Life is so much nicer...

Our house isn't anywhere near that size but wherever we end up living it will be smaller than what we currently have. I'd go to an apartment but I don't want to give up my kayaks and I want a small courtyard to do my bike maintenance in.

This is something I'd love to be able to do, but I can't.

Farmer gene. I think it will come in use one day. And I have good examples of an old tool that's been in my shed unused for years, and then you need exactly that tool. Or some old part that you can convert to use when fixing something else.

But for every (rare) case of this, I have dozens of things that will likely never get used again before I die!

Trouble is, I don't know which is which....

Hoarders of interesting trinkets (like me) are an invaluable resource for future hoarders of interesting trinkets. When I finally go my estate will undoubtedly be subject to a clearing sale where passionate purchasers can keep the valuable traditions of shed culture rolling along by buying my junk.

That's what sheds are for. It's a Museum of sorts. You might never use a tool but it's there all the time reminding you of myriad possibilities, which will in tern give you the solution to many a problem.

I know someone who says if you haven't used it for a month you don't need it. Seems a bit rigid to me - I would say six months.
