I was beside a truck when one of those let go on Sunday. Its a good bang, but a relief when you realise it was only a $300 propshaft and you can still drive home, as opposed to breaking a diff or axles.

its a relief when the back end breaks.....if the front end breaks it hits the ground
and catapaults the rear end....ripping out the diff and brake lines at the same time....
and all this just before it all goes through the fuel tank.......
just ask my ol' man.......(XB falcon wagon)
now is redback gonna tell us what happened.....
or just keep letting the suspense build up.....?

not bad,, did nearly a full turn before letting go https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

Baz, do you know why it failed? We've broken a few in the bush, and they have all popped the uni joint in some way. I wonder if the shaft has been dented by a rock of something which creates a stress point, or is it on a manufacture point?
-
hmm,
we used 'clutch paks' on each drive shaft,
and axels that WOULD twist 360degs then straighten,
and muds,, and bead loks,,
and 300hp,, and $10,000 gearboxes,,
and something still broke!!!
just not on a regular basis https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

Hi Guys
From the look of the picture the tailshaft has possibly hit the rocks whilst "torqued up".Its quite easy to twist a shaft when this happens,Ive done it twice once on a series landy and once in a tojo.
I would try and get it under warranty but wouldnt show them the pics.
