A few records broke but I think we missed the rainfall record though.
Quite a few years back now, but I remember once when I took my kids camping and fishing about 100km east of Esperance in February. My daughter came running into the tent one morning very excited, telling me that there were "ice drops" falling from the sky (she had never seen snow).
It snowed lightly there for almost an hour, although the ground etc was obviously too warm for any ground cover to build up - the snow melted as soon as it hit the ground.
On our way home a the next day (it was too bloody cold to continue fishing) - I stopped in at Esperance to buy a paper and discovered that snow had been reported at Frenchman's Peak, somewhere close to Albany, and somewhere just out of LAVERTON. :o
The weather will never cease to provide surprises. ;)
I don't know if we live in the weirdest country on earth but it has got to be up there.
Stinking hot in places it should be very warm, cold where it should be hot, raining & pleasant where it should be hot, snows even in QLD & WA, Rain Forrest here, Desserts there, Bush Fires elsewhere, Floods all about & all at the same time.
Strange?
Thankfully we haven't stuffed the weather up.

Fires early in the week, floods to finish it; only in Australia. :o
