    ARB recovery recall

Probably not applicable to most, but anyway...

    https://www.productsafety.gov.au/rec...-recovery-kits

"Consumers who have purchased an ARB RK9 or R11 for a vehicle which has a GVM outside the range of 2666kg - 4000kg should return the kit to the place of purchase for a refund or to exchange the snatch strap for an appropriately rated snatch strap.

For further enquiries consumers can call 03 9761 6622 or email sales@arb.com.au"

Based on below document, I don't think the GVM range applies to defender puma, maybe series/county vehicles?

I've got one of these kits. Just had a look and I think I see the problem now.

The kit and the snatch strap isn't labled as to its working load - it's a 9,000lb strap I believe in my kit - but there isn't even the part number on it to show if it was the RK9 or RK11 kit I bought.

The other thing is that the 3 straps in the kit - the snatch strap, winch extension and the tree protector aren't marked as to what they are - the tree protector is easy, but if you didn't know the different colours, there's nothing really apparent on the others to identify them.

Both straps of mine are unused, so never really noticed this before.

May take them back to see what to go is, but they aren't faulty as such, just not labeled.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

I'm off to work again in a moment, but I'll be going out to the shed in the morning to check on mine. I probably deserve a smack on the bum for not checking when I used it. Just the once mind you.
    Cheers, Billy.
    Keeping it simple is complicated.
