I recently lead a bunch of Series Land Rovers from Melbourne to Cape York & return. Given the distance & age of the vehicles I was anxious to have a "rescue option" available up North so I contacted Graeme Filer at Rocky 4x4 Mechanix in Rockhampton. Graeme knows Land Rovers inside out and he was happy to get involved if we had issues. Glad to report that generally things went really well, well mechanically anyway; though the weather wasn't always on our side! In the end I just dropped in on the way South to say HI to Graeme & Lyndal and to put my 1959 Series 2 88 up on a hoist for a quick inspection before heading for home. Graeme did point out a couple of minor items that required attention though none of them needed immediate rectification and we got the thumbs up to head for Victoria. I have no financial connection to Rocky 4x4 Mechanix and I strongly recommend them to fellow Land Rover drivers looking for expert mechanical services up North. In the past Graeme has provided expert service on both my TD-5 Discovery and my TDI powered Series 2.
Cheers,
Richard
Thanks for that. Just thinking if it would be a good idea to add this to the Land Rover Dealers section, as there doesn't seem to be one for Rocky.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
