I haven't had NRMA roadside for 6 years. Nor has it been needed except for once and then the incident cost me a $350 for a flat bed transport from Gundagai to Sydney. :roll: :cry:
There was nothing that the NRMA could have done in that circumstance apart from the transport.

ps any of you p38 rangie owners out there , can you tell me what octane fuel you are using in OZ ? as I want to eliminate that from my starting problems

Automobile club assist packages are pretty good (NRMA, RAC, RAA, RACQ etc). Be selective with your pic of the package and whos name you put on the membership. My wife took out RAC some years ago for our cars, she went to change it in my name the other day as I do most of the driving and we had to start again (discount value on other services is all it effects). Same benefits for the assist package and same cost though. Mainly we did this because the current RAC package covers the person in any vehicle and any nominated single vehicle no matter who is driving. Makes more sense to be in my name as it then covers my bike and anyone elses car I may drive. The stupid thing is you would think by now that they would do a family cover for couples. Use it once and it has paid for itself, especially if you need a remote recovery. Check the details as RAC will recover you anywhere. If you buy a LR new LR assist is good as well but I think you have to maintain it continuously. It is generally the same contractors no matter who you get it through that will come and get you anyway.
Hi Cro, yes i am the same ace as the rangie forum.
The only real option you have in NSW for roadside assist is the NRMA, i let mine run out two years ago and havent bothered renewing it. There is little an NRMA bloke would know about a Landy anyway, especially a p38a, the best they can do is tow you to someone who does and you have to pay for towing over 100km or something like that. Its handy when you get a flat battery or something, but a set of jumper leads and a friendly motorist will help you out of that one, you cant lock your keys in the car because you have central locking so you dont need that, and i am sure changing a tyre is something you can manage on your own. You can get it but you will be paying $80 plus for your wifes peace of mind. I say save the money every year and put it aside on the of chance you do ever need a tow.

Ace that is fairly ordinary for NRMA. The cover we have with RAC will recover you from anywhere in Australia, and take your car to be repaired or to your home. Thats why we are in it. It is very similar to the LR assisit.
