    These really amused me when I was in Santiago.

    Plaza des Armes in Santiago has these walk signs.

    I am further amazed that I was able to find a youtube video of them.

    I reckon they should be the same as the traffic lights, green amber and red, that way when the ped light turns amber they will start running to beat the red light
