    Oh the joys of moving

After 14 years here it is time for a sea change. The house is not the problem. It is the large shed with all that is piled in it. I have just had a monstrous council cleanup and haven't scratched the pile in the shed. Why aren't I a tidy person? Just had the 3rd lot through the house in pouring rain. I think the size of the shed might swing the deal. Off fishing on the south coast.

We helped our daughter move out of her share house on the weekend. One 6x4 trailer, 2 90's and a 110 plus a 6 wheel perentie. I'm not sure she understands what a rubbish bin is for. 😃

This was all out of one room as well. No idea how she managed to live in it.

I hope you are not planing to down size. We did and you don`t realise the stuff you have until it is all piled into a smaller house. Five lounges in one room was a bit excessive. Best thing we did and can`t recommend it enough. Pay the dollars and get the movers in. All the best for the move.

Did it about 18 months ago.
I currently have 1 x 40 foot and 2 x 20 foot shipping containers with all my hoarded stuff, until the new shed goes up.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

Both parties signed contracts yesterday. Now the buyer is trying to extend the settlement date to 6 months. He knew what it was before he made the offer and signed the contract. I am talking with my solicitor today.

I recommend you divide your stuff into two piles:

    1. Stuff I will need in the next week.
    2. Everything else.

Pile 2 goes to the tip and pile 1 goes to your new residence. Easy.

We once downsized from a five bedroom house to a 30kg suitcase each and moved overseas. That concentrates the mind.

And how often do you find you need something after you have thrown it out.

Just make sure pile two is small
