No, no. Minimalism is the key. We don't 'need' most stuff, we just 'want' it.
For example, you could bomb most aisles in a typical supermarket and most shoppers would be better off not buying that stuff.

If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Our daughter is in the process of moving and last week we moved her stuff and stored it in our place for the week. Tonight we moved it into the new place.

When it comes to hard work she's not the most enthusiastic. 😀 So everything's being loaded and she eventually decides to bring something out. So she comes out and says 'I don't remember these being part of the bed.'

She was standing there holding tent poles. 😂😂😂

Interesting thread, we've just moved out of big house, shed etc including the mother in-law and her gear with the mantra "if it doesn't fit in 2 x 20ft containers it isn't coming". Bought a caravan too so there's a bit for in there.
How good does it feel to get rid of all the accumulated crap! I reckon there's still half a container of stuff we don't need.

We once downsized from a five bedroom house to a 30kg suitcase each and moved overseas. That concentrates the mind.
We have started clearing the clutter for our move in just under 5 years. Cleaned the computer cupboard out and I would have sworn I needed 90% of what was in there - I ended up keeping about 5%. 50% went in the bin and the Salvo's grabbed 45% of it.

If I continue on like that, a 2 bedroom shoebox should be perfect.

    Yeah, love that show.

I'd still need a big arse shed though...

Cook and I have been thinking of doing this for years and keep backing off.... 35 years here with vast ocean views and all we see as possible downsizing places to go to is looking out at someone 20 meters away!
We'd love to capitalise on the increase in price but feel we'll stay here for a few years longer yet. Just moving our daughter out after she moved back in for 18 months was traumatic enough. :-((
Good luck to all those that do the big move.

Move to the country. We are slowly transitioning from Brisbane to Maleny.
