Whats your wife drive ?? not a Landrover ??
love to catch on of those 14year old toe rags![]()
Wifes car was attacked today. At least the only destroyed the outer casing of the lock. It still works and nothing seems to have been taken so I don't think they got in. Just another expense to get it fixed.

Can't even remember the number of times I've had that happen.
These days I often don't bother lcoking at all. Doesn't stop them getting in, but saves the cost of buying a new lock unless the thief is really thick.
Think that only happened once.
One time they ripped off both wing mirrors, rear vision mirror, pair of spotties that came with the car and had never worked, one of those incline/compass thingys, the indicators, wipers, wiper control. Anything that could be snapped off by hand. Hairy ride out to pick and payless with bits hanging by wires. Total cost to repair $80. Love them trashy Subarus.
If the lock is stuffed buy a replacement lock as a spare part, off to the locksmith to re-key it to your existing key - $20 or so - and install yourself. Easy job on most cars.
Cheers
Simon
My wifes "train station" car is an 1980 Gemini.
It used to look like complete crap. Faded silver duco, roof back to red oxide & the front guards were bright green. Oh, and lots of rust repair patches left as I welded them (just covered with red oxide paint).
Despite it's looks & with no accessories at all, not even a radio it was targetted.
First the boot lock was attacked. That was rendered useless so the lock was removed & the hole plated. A defender bonnet cable mounted inside the car now releases the boot lid.
Everyweek later, one of the door locks would be buggered. The drivers one became so bad that I swapped the passenger's one for it & left the "new" passenger lock just filling the hole (disconnected).
Eventually I fitted a Rhino alarm with central locking. I removed the door lock barrels altogether & plated the holes. So now there's now way of getting in without breaking a window. I suppose when that happens, I'll be fitting mesh grilles over them  .
No matter what sort of car you drive, there's always lowlifes around just to stuff it up.

I supose modifying an electric fence module to to so that any one touching it would get a boot would get you in trouble, but it would be funny to watch the little b@$#!%d cop it
even if they get caught it seems that most judges let poor little johnny off with a warning anyway.

Car is a 97 fairlane. Seems they only got the cover plate off so I will leave it alone. Looks like a non standard super lock now anyway.
Yeah they do target everything. I had a car that if you locked it could only be unlocked from the inside. Smart arse theives locked the doors after searching it to find nothing of value. They cuoldn't start it as we used to remove the disy cap.
Took an hour and a half to unlock the doors from the boot through the speeker hole with a peice of thick wire.

he leaves the little stick in neutral......</span>
I cant remember which Bond movie it was, it was one of Roger Moore's movies. But he parks the Lotus in the bush with security system warning on the window. when the crim smashes the window with the butt of his gun the car explodesNow that is the kind of secruity system all cars need, would stop theives dead in their tracks.
