D3 USA prices?

I just saw an LR add in the USA and their price for a D3 ( USA calls them LR3s ) start at $44,995US which if I’m correct works out at about a little over $70,000A.

Thats a lot pricier than the $49,999a being asked here.

An ideas as to the large difference in prices.

Seems like there specs are a little higher than the comparable Australian Model. Air Suspension and TR on the base V6 model. Alpine roof standard on SE and HSE, and NAV System standard on HSE.

At an exchange rate of AUD$ to the US$ of around 0.75
LR3 V6 AUD$52000
LR3 SE V8 AUD$ 60933
LR3 HSE V8 AUD$ 71600

If you take in the spec levels and the current exchange rate, US Prices look a little better than they do here. But then, I would hope their sales volumes would be a little higher over there.

Good old import tax :roll: ... my dad back in South-Africa was looking at the D3 ... they start at R440,000 for the V6 petrol. That is AU$95,000 ... the TDV6 HSE will set you back AU$124,000 8O

In that regard Australia is truly the 'lucky country"!!!
