    Autumn Break

Well after a very hot and dry end to summer we have had our first, and much needed, rain for the year.
It started drizzling about 8am yesterday (Thursday) morning and gradually increased to a nice steady light fall for most of the day.
Overnight we have had some good heavy down pours and at 6am this morning I tipped 28mm out of the gauge and now at 7am the
    rain is teeming down.
The weather pattern has basically started up around Broome and moved SE down through SW NT, SA and Vic.
The farmers will have grins from ear to ear.

    Cheers, Mick.

Autumn , good receipt for catching a cold, hot one day then cool the next . Autumn & Spring the best time of the year I. I don't like the heat of summer these days but dislike the cold of winter even more . Bit of a shower here in Brisbane this morning.

An inch of rain in Sunset would have made a much more interesting trip through there the other day.

The break came here a couple of Sundays ago.............. 103 mm, followed up by 7mm the next day.

Since then have had 25mm last week and have copped at least another 30mm in the last 3 hours.

BOM is so far out with a lot of things and I'm not going to get into that now. Best weather forecasts I get actually comes from Chechezlovakia.

Picked this latest event a week ago.

We've currently got thunderstorms and steady rain from the East here since midday at the moment. Opening a bonnet nearly always resulted in a shower!

We had nearly 1.5" on the 10th of April down here (near Warrnambool). That was the first major amount of rain we had in one day this year. Geelong had a bit over 100mm IIRC.

Also, there's an awful lot of mice around this area. They're getting into everything including the Land Rovers (and no, not just the Defender !)
