    hi
does anyone know of where we can find a qualified engineer that does engineer reports in sydney,,, because hopefully the 90 will be touching land at the end of this month.....andwe needed to find someone that is qualified to do engineer reports.

this is providing it gets passed customs first.

Isn't the 90 already ADR compliance so doesn't need an engineers cert - or did I understand Reads 90 posts wrong.

It's an UK-spec 90 so it would need to be ADRed. For example, check the speedo is calibrated in km.

Ok here i go with all the details.

I got mine done in Brisbane. but same rules.
First get customs to value to truck and charge you the 10% import duty and 10% GST on that . we were told it was going to cost us $7000 to import the truck but customs vauled it at $7400 worth. So they just charged us 20% on that. so sorted. This is all good when you come to pay stamp duty as it will be cheaper as well 8)

My 90 is a UK spec 90 (300 TDi 1995 model soft top)
Had a engerner come around and check the car. was really worried about it but he took 3 mins to look at it and found all the ADR numbers all over it. (they use the same parts on the 90 as on the 110 so it meet all the details) he charged me $275 for it though. But hey it was worth it.He put a Queensland transport modication plate on the 90. Then i had to send the form you get from Cranberra (please tell me you have all these papers) with his signature of to Narindige Nameplates , Victoria (or what ever they are called ) to get your compliance plate. You then have to put this on the truck before you can get a roadworthy.
Once you have done this and got a roadworthy (bTW the road worthy is a joke compaired to the MOT)

So then you have the roadworthy, import papers and go off to the transport department. But you have to take the 90 there for them to see the plates on the car (compliance plates and modication plate . They will check them and then give you the number plates

hope this helps But if you have any questions then call me on 0429197325

I also have just imported my Rangie to Sydney from the Uk and been through the whole process in Sydney. If you have anymore questions just post here or pm me , happy to tell you my experiences. It was all pretty painless except when dealing with the trained monkeys at the RTA.. (did I say trained...hhmm).
