    H3 globes.

    I have just changed a blown driving light globe on the Discovery.
    Below is a picture of the replaced item, a 65w IPF.
    I couldn't find a similar bulb, probably only available at ARB, so used one I had in stock.
    The replacement has the same base and connection but is 10mm shorter, although the filament is in the same place relative to the base.
    It all works but the 100w replacement is not as bright as the 65w that was removed, or the other light that still has a bulb like the one in the picture???

    That would be because the IPF one uses HIR technology.. lower wattage, higher efficiency due to reflection of the IR spectrum back into the Filament results in higher heating of the filament and more Luminous output per watt.

    If you're using the IPF loom consider staying at 65w HIR as you'll burn it out!
