Raising money for Variety
Warning: Content below includes request for donation to a charity (... but it's a very good one :wink
My wife and I have decided to do do the Variety 2006 4WD Bash again this year (you can find out why this was not a hard decision if you look at our summary of last years event [url=http://www.bslras.com/index.php?option=com_forum&Itemid=25&page=viewtopi c&t=569]<span style="color:blue">using this link</span> (images may not work - I've been having trouble today). We'll be taking the rangie again....
This year we're starting at Monkey Mia on 5th August, and travelling around the region for 8 nights - finishing at Carnarvon on 12th August. This will be the 10th Anniversary of the 4WD Bash and should be a little warmer than last year down Esperance way :-). An overview of the Variety 4WD Bash can be [url=http://www.varietywa.com/index.php?id=18]<span style="color:blue">found here</span>.
We need to raise at least $4000 for the Varity to use for the kids. Last year we managed something over $5000 (including assistance from a number of other landie nuts...) and would like to match that again if we could. (Note: Kim and I chip in for the total cost of our trip - this is NOT taken from donations received.)
We are looking for assistance in raising the money for Variety again this year. For those in WA, we will be "shaking cans" at the LottoWorks Australia Day event at the Swan and will also have raffle tickets to sell. We are also planning to ask businesses for goods donations that we can auction/sell - this seemed to work ok and gives good exposure to the businesses as well. Suggestions for businesses to approach are also welcome.
For those who may not be aware, Variety is a world-wide charity committed to enabling disadvantaged and disabled children to experience a better quality of life which is done through the provision of goods and services. The organisation helps other children’s groups and charities as well as raising funds for its own initiatives. (More info can be found at www.varietywa.com)
Any assistance with the above (time/money/goods) would be very much appreciated. More info on our fundraising activities may be [url=http://www.bslras.com/index.php?option=com_forum&Itemid=25&page=viewtopi c&t=670][b]<span style="color:blue">found here</span>.
